9-1-1 Season 5 Episode 14 Recap
Lucy (Arielle Kebbel) began this week’s shocking hour by rescuing a woman who had fallen off a balcony while having sex with her husband. Lucy became an overnight star after the one-in-a-million catch was captured on film and went viral. But, unlike the 118’s Speed reenactment a few weeks before, Lucy wasn’t keen on taking the spotlight this time because she didn’t believe dumb luck deserved to be rewarded. Eddie awakens from a nightmare. Bobby has arrived. Buck was the one who drove Christopher to school. Eddie is perplexed and terrified. He is consoled by Bobby. He, too, has had his share of difficulties, and unpleasant nightmares are his method of coping. Bobby advises him to find a way to mend. A man comes to a halt to place something in a donation box. He drops his car keys in the door and decides to reach in and grab them by standing on a box. He dives in with both feet. While searching for a way out, he screams for aid. He activates the panic alarm in his car, which is parked next door. No one shows up. Days pass. The group is led to a bowling alley adjacent to the donation box. He hears a thud. She peers inside. She is taken aback when she discovers a frail and bewildered man. Outside, she and Bobby cut the bolt and get him out.
Meanwhile, Hen and her partner are having fun with Bobby and Athena while playing automobiles. Two children are caught stealing a stop sign by Athena. A man drives one of the teenagers over as they try to flee. He’s lying on the sidewalk. He receives assistance from Athena. The crew shows up. As doctors operate on the teen, his friend sobs. The adolescent is stabilized and removed. The other team is lectured by Athena. Lucy saves a trauma surgeon, who saves the teen in the end. Buck, who is still awkward around Lucy as a result of their kiss advised her to take it as a lucky break and go on. You have to accept the wins when you can in their line of work. That didn’t exactly put Lucy at ease, but she warmed up after discovering that the woman she saved was a surgeon who, as a result of surviving the fall, had likely helped many other people. we’re all looking forward to the day that Lucy and Taylor finally meet, especially after Buck refused to help his girlfriend score an interview with his new co-worker this week.
Haunted by nightmares and overcome with hopelessness, Eddie sought new ways to heal this week, ultimately finding success in equine therapy. More specifically, Buck tracked down the little boy Eddie saved before he was shot, and got a hold of the kid’s equine therapy schedule. Jee-Yun ended up in the emergency room, with Maddie immediately blaming her own family history of leukemia on their daughter being sick. In the waiting room, Chim and Maddie console each other. They discover that their child has a GI obstruction. Fortunately, the doctors were able to correct the baby’s intestinal blockage without surgery. In fact, Maddie acting on her instinct to bring Jee-Yun to the doctor is what saved her in the end.
