The Rookie Season 4 Episode 3 Recap

Nolan and Chen are dispatched to structural fire in the first episode. They enter the premises without authorization in search of victims. During this time, they drag the victim out of the rubble. Bailey gets upset both of them. A male body was discovered in the wreckage, and authorities say he is a suspect before he is a victim. Lopez (Alyssa Diaz) is debating to prolong her maternity leave. She then goes into a spiral with Wesley. Meanwhile, Elijah is waiting for Wesley in his office. Grey (Richard T. Jones) advises that Bradford (Eric Winter) enlist the services of Chen, his “gopher,” for Sargent’s tasks. Instead, he opts for Webb. Nolan and Chen are perplexed and frustrated as a result of this. Nolan and Chen visit the hospital to question the body they discovered in the wreckage. Bradford is remorseful about choosing Webb as his partner. The man confesses to squatting in the residence before the fire. He claims he heard two voices before the fire started and hid to avoid being seen. Because of his problems, Thorsen is constantly under pressure from Harper. During a call in the patrol car, Harper and Thorsen, it turns out, is the officers who have gone missing. A sniper fires at a neighboring automobile while the crew stops for coffee.

Bradford leads the crew on a chase after a nearby suspect is discovered. The suspect eventually escapes by a zipline. Grey, on the other hand, is perplexed as to why the squad did not pursue him instead of allowing him to flee. They are interrupted by a phone call informing them that the arson victim’s ID has been found. Chen and Nolan are in charge of the arson investigation, while Thorsen and Harper are in charge of the sniper. Celia, the victim’s wife, is interviewed by Chen and Nolan. They indicate that the house he was in is a hangout for drug users. Thorsen and Harper visit the morgue. Because of the ammo found in the body, it has been determined that the gunman has a military background. The mortician, on the other hand, says that the victim discovered in the fire was already dead when it started. In exchange for not tormenting him on the job, Thorsen provides Harper with a luxury dinner reservation. James accepts her invitation to accompany her on her date. When James fails to react to her invitation, Harper decides to attend on her own. Thorsen offers to come with her, though she refuses and ends up inviting the other man she’s seeing. both dates show up at the restaurant simultaneously. Meanwhile, Lopez and Wesley are going on a date night with Nolan and Bailey as babysitters.

Unfortunately, Elijah interrupts the date night by threatening Wesley with a video stream from Jack’s hacked baby monitor. The team discovers that the shooting victim had a quarrel with Elijah, which is problematic because Wesley works closely with Elijah. Once again, Chen is not chosen by Bradford to be his “Gopher” and instead chooses Schmitty. Nolan and Chen investigate the shooting further by showing up at a potential suspect’s house. To prove his alibi, the suspect enters back into his house to grab a receipt that would prove where he was during the sniping. The suspect reveals that he is holding a grenade. After a long, tense conversation, Nolan charges him to keep the grenade from denoting. Once Nolan is holding the grenade, Chen subdues the suspect with a taser to render him unconscious. Elijah believes he has control over Wesley after threatening him at the restaurant. So he returns to the office and compels Wesley to defend the suspect who Nolan and Chen had just apprehended. Wesley slips a letter across the table to his new client, assuming it was written for him by Elijah, only to discover it was written for Wesley himself. Wesley, on the other hand, has passed one of Elijah’s exams. Lopez revisits the murder with Nolan and Bailey, having done her homework and discovering that the team may be dealing with a serial killer. Thanks to Thorsen, James arrives at the station. After walking out on Harper (Mekia Cox) at the restaurant, he wants to make things right, so the two get down and chat about their problems.
