The Equalizer Season 4 Episode 2 Recap: Full Throttle

The second episode of Season 4 of “The Equalizer” told an interesting story about family relationships, personal goals, and how one’s choices can affect others. It showed how good Queen Latifah and Laya DeLeon Hayes were as actors and how strong their characters were when things went wrong.

The Equalizer Season 4 Episode 2 Recap

The most recent episode of “The Equalizer,” called “Full Throttle,” was a deep look at the complicated relationships between family, courage, and personal goals. Robyn McCall, played by Queen Latifah, had a tough situation with her daughter Delilah, played by Laya DeLeon Hayes because her goals for the future didn’t match up with Robyn’s.

While she was still in high school, Delilah said she wanted to join the service instead of going to college. She thought her mom was a hero because she was the Equalizer and saved lives every day. Delilah’s original dream of working in fashion faded when she saw how bad it could be. She felt forced to join the army like her mother had, thinking that it would help her more right away.

Aunt Vi helped Robyn decide what to do because she wanted to support her daughter’s goals but also keep her safe from the risks of military service. Vi believed in supporting Delilah’s goals without any limits, and she told Robyn to talk to her daughter and listen to her.

At the same time, a terrible hit-and-run accident left a young girl in a coma. This made Robyn look into Johnny Black and Brody Connors, two careless drivers who were reportedly in a dangerous road race. Detective Dante, played by Tory Kittles, helped with the probe and found a web of lies and danger.

The case took a shocking turn when it was found that one of the drivers, Ari Bentang, had been taken hostage. Ari is the son of a Sudanese ambassador and has autism. His dad, Sameer, stole a valuable diamond from a cruel leader who had taken over their country. Ari had hidden the diamond in his car without meaning to, which is what led to his kidnapping.

Robyn and Liza Lapira’s character Mel stepped in to save Ari and figure out what the diamond was all about. They found that Johnny Black’s chop shop was part of a plan to steal cars, take them apart for parts, and then sell the parts. Trackers were hidden in the cars to help with this. Johnny’s death at the hands of the kidnappers made the plan to save him even more important.

Robyn and her team saved Ari and got back the diamond in a fierce fight. Ari knew what he was doing was wrong, so he chose to be responsible for the hit-and-run and keep his family safe from the dictator’s punishment. He turned himself into the police, which kept the girl alive and kept his family safe.

The episode also showed how Dee talked to Briggs, a veteran, while she was thinking about whether or not to join the service. Even after hearing Briggs’s scary stories, Dee was still determined to follow in his footsteps, which caused a split between her and Aunt Vi.

At the end of the show, Robyn thinks about how hard it is to be a parent and how important it is to understand and support her daughter’s decisions, even if they are different from her own.
