The Equalizer Season 3 Episode 5 Recap

Big Ben strikes a contract because he has run out of justifications for safeguarding people—they are either dying or becoming so worthless that protecting them is pointless. He tells Dante this and begs to be included in the lives of his grandchildren rather than asking for money or a place to stay. Dante asks his mother Carol and even Robyn for advice since he isn’t sure about it, and they all encourage him to follow his convictions rather than offering a supporting or contrarian viewpoint. They understand what he wants to hear, after all, he has primary custody and is obviously seeking an excuse not to let his father be around his children. Delilah comes to Mel after her mother refused to let her train in an effort to preserve part of her youth and purity.

Mel isn’t always comfortable with the concept of teaching Delilah. Why? She knows Robyn doesn’t want her to be taught, for starters, and she also understands that doing something behind Robyn’s back will cause a blowup. Robyn doesn’t joke around about her child. Delilah, however, raises a number of arguments that would support Robyn’s training, including the fact that she doesn’t think she could be abducted and a number of other possibilities. But Delilah’s insistence that she would continue her training whether or not Mel is her teacher causes Mel to reconsider, especially. This brings back thoughts of the troops Mel pleaded to train because she believed they weren’t prepared for battle, and the soldiers she didn’t train died as a result.

In light of the fact that Delilah must adhere to her instructions as a student and not as a sort of buddy, Mel chooses to accept Delilah as a pupil. Additionally, Mel was the only inspiration behind Robyn finding out about this. To avoid this putting Delilah and Robyn at odds, she would rather deal with the animosity and turmoil.  Colton Fisk, a famous spy, emerges from hiding as a result of corruption and a CIA mole, luring Robyn into what was intended to be a transfer of the criminal Ezra. Actually, everything was a test. Robyn was abducted, Mason advanced so far, and Ezra, who is Colton, wanted to discover how corrupt Robyn was, all because of Griffin, who we find has long been dishonest. She may be self-centered, but Griffin now recognizes she isn’t a threat because she didn’t murder him when given the chance. Even still, it seems that what he truly wanted was to become her new employer and make it plain that, unlike their shared mentor Bishop, she wouldn’t have as much latitude in terms of her aversion to working for anybody.
