The Equalizer Season 4 Episode 6 “DOA” Recap

In the most recent episode of The Equalizer, the plot was centered around Mark Jamison, a controversial character known for denying carbon emissions. Even though there was a lot of evidence against his beliefs, Jamison was given a chance to talk, including a New York City event that is coming up soon. Because Jamison’s platform made Delilah so angry, she chose to join a protest against his appearance. However, her family was worried about the possible risks and warned her about the dangers of being caught in a social media or smartphone moment that goes viral.

While Delilah was at the protest, her sister Robyn got a new client from China called Mike Chen, who is a sleeper MSS (Ministry of State Security) agent. Chen had lived in the US for twenty years and built a life with his American wife and son. All of a sudden, he was poisoned, most likely by his own government, for not going to a meeting they asked him to.  To keep his family safe, Chen hired Robyn to find the poison and stop the attack on the United States. Robyn took Chen to get help from her ex-husband Miles, who is a doctor. At the same time, she and her team looked into the poisoning, which made them think that Chen’s wife Amy was also a sleeper spy.

It turned out that Amy had been forced to work for the Chinese government because she was angry about how her father had been treated and wanted to get back at him. She stole a strong magnifier from Chen’s lab, which was an important part of a bioweapon the Chinese were making that would target people based on their DNA.  After a tense argument, Amy admitted that she was involved and gave Robyn important information, such as where the cure was.

Amy finally gave up something important by making her husband take the cure even though she knew there wasn’t enough for both of them. Chen and their son were able to start over after she died. In a separate story, Delilah was arrested at the protest, which showed how important it is to stand up for what you believe in while also staying safe. Robyn praised Delilah’s bravery and stressed the need to be careful and safe. At the end of the show, Miles said that Robyn’s work had moved him and that he wanted to help her as she continued to play the Equalizer.
