In this episode, Red goes to Miami to arrange a truce between the  Montanos and the  Sandovals, two rival families that share ownership of a major mine. Red’s goal is to maintain his control over the mine’s resources. The families appear to be moving toward reconciliation during a tense dinner meeting, but tragedy intervenes. The family patriarch Vincente Sandoval and his brother Sandoval (Robert J. Morgalo) unexpectedly succumb to a lethal poison. Red understands that the poison, which intensifies pre-existing sensitivities to lethal proportions, was created by a new Blacklister by the name of Wormwood. Red and the Task Force try to determine who the poison came from and accuse one of the family members in the process.

In the meantime, Congressman Arthur Hudson (Toby Leonard Moore) uses Jonathan Pritchard (Mackenzie Astin) as his inside man in order to weaken the Task Force and defend Agent Ressler (Diego Klattenhoff). Hudson is aware of Pritchard’s affiliation with the Task Force. Pritchard, who has been sober for two months, agrees grudgingly.

When Herbie (Alex Brightman), a Task Force member, studies the toxin, he finds that it shares chemical similarities with a blood pressure drug. The Sandoval family’s daughter Gabriella Sandoval observes the commotion taking place in the dining room as her father assesses the situation. Red observes that Michael Montano (Manny Ureña), a member of the Montano family, is the subject of her interest. Only Michael and his brother Izan are still alive as the poison begins to claim victims. Red wonders why Michael showed up unexpectedly for the meal and discovers Gabriella has emotions for him.

Red and Dembe Zuma (Hisham Tawfiq)  question Tito Sandoval (Brandon Espinoza) with the assistance of the Task Force since they believe he was involved in the poisoning. However, Tito is a victim of the poison as well despite being innocent. The course of the investigation takes them to Gabriella (Gabriela Torres), who confesses to having planned to kill everyone at the dinner in order to date Michael. She divulges details about the poison, directing the Task Force to Dr. Harris (Dashiell Eaves), the mastermind behind Wormwood, and a pharmaceutical business.

Izan and Michael are both shocked when Red exposes Gabriella’s intentions back in the dining room. Realizing Gabriella is to blame for his father’s and other people’s deaths, Michael confronts her. While he and Izan seek forgiveness and harmony, he rejects her. Dr. Harris is taken into custody by the Task Force and confesses his involvement was motivated by money. Additionally, they discover that the poison is transient and will eventually be removed by the kidneys.

Red, who is eager to enjoy moments of beauty in life despite the hazards associated, exits to see his daughter Agnes’ ballet recital while the others stay in the dining room to avoid any allergens. Red’s activities irritate Cooper (Harry Lennix), who confronts him but recognizes Red’s viewpoint. In the final scene of the episode, Red takes a picture of Agnes (Sami Bray) at the ballet without realizing that someone else is also surreptitiously observing her.

Herbie also discloses that he is a member of a book club and expresses strong sentiments over claims that George Lucas stole concepts from Frank Herbert’s “Dune.” The episode marks the directorial debut of Agent Ressler actor Diego Klattenhoff, who has garnered accolades for his handling of the restricted quarters’ situation.
