S.W.A.T. Season 7 Episode 8 Recap

It was one of the hardest jobs the SWAT team had ever had right in the middle of Los Angeles. There was a point where Deacon “Deac” Kay (Jay Harrington), a respected team member, had to decide whether to quit or not. Annie, his wife, had gone back to work, which made things harder for their kids. At the same time, things were getting tense with the Webber family, who were doomsday preppers who were locked inside their fortress-like house. Jeb took his ex-girlfriend Kat hostage because he thought the country was about to fall apart. His brother Grant took hostages at a diner, which made SWAT have to break up the situation.

Deac’s plans to quit were put on hold while the team worked to solve the problem. This is because Luca got hurt and had to leave the team. Deac couldn’t leave his friends when they needed him the most, but he also couldn’t forget about what his family needed. When Deac became a hostage himself, the situation at the Webber Compound got worse. SWAT came up with a plan to free the hostages with the help of a reporter covering the story. They did a risky rescue mission using Tran’s camera footage and the journalist’s understanding of the compound.

In the middle of all the chaos, Deac became close with Beth, the Webber family’s ignored daughter who was in a violent relationship with Adam Edwards. The team’s work paid off when they were able to free the prisoners and catch Edwards. When everything calmed down, Deac understood that retiring might not be the best idea for him right now. Like Annie did when she went back to work, he knew he had to do what was best for his family. Powell finally met her son, whom she had given up for adoption 18 years before the show ended. It was a touching ending to a tense and emotional storyline.
