In the Superman & Lois Season 2 opener, the audience learns about John and Natalie’s recent events. The father-daughter duo migrated to Metropolis, where Natalie will attend her Earth’s high school. But Natalie isn’t used to Earth-Prime. She often disputes with her father and tells him she wishes she had never gone. Natalie even says she wants to die on their Earth. Lois persuades Natalie to speak with her. And they seem to agree on the nature of their relationship. Lois and Natalie agree to be friends. Finally, John and Natalie return to Smallville. They can stay with the Kents until they find a permanent home.
Lois is disappointed in herself for the way she treated Natalie when they first met. Lois did nothing when Natalie addressed her as “mom,” and now the reporter believes she understands how her mother felt when she abandoned her, her sister, and her father. Lois returns home, she finds Jonathan in bed with Candice. They freak out, and Jonathan tries to explain himself. The smarmy Army man, for example, wasn’t pleased that Clark saved a nuclear North Korean submarine and returned it to its homeland without question. Anderson claimed that “America may have more than one Superman” since Superman made it plain that he is a servant of the entire world, not just the United States. The episode introduced us to a pair of super-powered recruits dressed in outfits adorned with the House of El’s famous insignia! who helped the military with rescue attempts after a mine explosion produced an earthquake.
