William Ransom (Charles Vandervaart) arrives at Fort Ticonderoga at the start of the episode and finds out that the British army is going to isolate New England from the other colonies. In the meantime, Claire, Jamie, and their company manage to get away from the British soldiers, but some of them have physical challenges. Mrs. Raven, who is wary of the locals, is reassured by Claire, but unfortunately, Mrs. Raven ends her own life. The Redcoats then capture Claire as a prisoner.

When Jamie and Young Ian learn that Claire has been taken, they set out to save her. Roger visits the school and meets with the headmaster, who expresses his thoughts on preserving Highland culture.
