[NBC] Night Court Episode 3 Recap

While trying to help a defendant who has developed a habit of repeat offenses, Abby reveals his true identity as an undercover police officer. In the courtroom, she adopts an unyieldingly businesslike demeanor out of the fear that her personal approach is doing more harm than good. Abby looks down her nose at Dan whenever he makes an attempt to correct this excessive adjustment. Abby, just like Dan’s late wife, is an alcoholic who has successfully completed treatment, and Dan has come to the conclusion that this explains Abby’s sensitivity to helping others. She admits to me that her drinking caused her to lose a great deal of time with her father, despite the fact that he was able to see her flourish after she quit drinking. Dan reassures her that Harry never would’ve felt betrayed by her. Her prior disposition is restored. Meanwhile, Olivia has a hard time adjusting once the police officers take away her advantages. She confronts the cops because she thinks they’re overreacting to the incident in court, but she ends up telling an Internal Affairs official about the questionable benefits, which is the real reason for the shift in policy.
