Jordan Elsass will not be back on “Superman & Lois” for its third season. Warner Bros. Television said in a statement released Tuesday night that the actor would not return to his role as Jonathan Kent because of “personal reasons.” The role will now be given to someone else.

Warner Bros. Television said in a statement on Tuesday evening that Jordan Elsass had told the studio that he would not be back for Season 3 of “Superman & Lois” because of personal reasons. “A new person will play Jonathan Kent.”

The network didn’t say anything specific about why Elsass left the show. But sources close to the production say that the actors leaving has nothing to do with a problem at work.

“Superman & Lois” is about the Man of Steel (Tyler Hoechlin), the famous journalist Lois Lane (Elizabeth Tulloch), and their two teenage sons, Jordan Kent (Alexander Garfin) and Jonathan Kent. The show takes place in the CW’s “Arrowverse,” a universe of DC Comics characters that started with the superhero show “Arrow” and now includes shows like “The Flash,” “Supergirl,” and “Legends of Tomorrow.”

The news that Elsass is leaving comes exactly six weeks after the end of Season 2 of the show. Insiders say that filming for the third season will start soon in Vancouver, but Elsass wasn’t able to make it there by the deadline.

The show “Superman & Lois” is made by Warner Bros. Television and Berlanti Productions. Greg Berlanti, Todd Helbing, Sarah Schechter, and Geoff Johns are the show’s executive producers. More Updates on tvacute
