Hightown Season 2 Episode 1 Recap

Jackie Quinones celebrates 50 days of sobriety and regular AA meetings. Despite her development, she still grieves Junior’s death and regrets not doing more to aid him. Jackie begins working on her own case to apprehend Frankie, who was freed from prison at the end of last season. Despite everything Ray taught her, Alan thinks buying drugs from a dealer is a bad idea. He reminds her that she is simply a day-off relationship. A new murder case prompts Jackie to develop a case first. Leslie Babcock, the only other female in the squad, invites Jackie to ride along. Ray is a mess and thinking about Renee. He lives in his basement, rents out his upstairs, and attends therapy to overcome his sex addiction. Renee wants a normal existence, but Frankie wants her back as assistant manager while Jorge is the manager. Away from the hospital, Alan visits Osito, who has been charged with murdering Jackie.

Jackie calls Ray, a bartender, who warns her about Leslie, saying she’ll “stab you in the back.” Ray speaks well at a reinstatement hearing. Jackie is called to a lovely suburban home where three rich kids have overdosed on a potent new substance called the Great White. The case gets a lot of press, and a distressed mother slams the cops for being inept in front of the cameras. Jackie takes this as a chance to ask the lieutenant to ride with her full-time. In the meantime, Jorge is on his way home after negotiating a meeting to sell Great White.
