FBI Season 6 Episode 9 Recap
At the beginning of the episode, Nina (Shantel VanSanten) and FBI agent Scola (John Boyd) talk about plans for Nina’s sister’s wedding in California. Because his brother died in the terrible 9/11 attacks, Scola is always worried about safety. He suggests that they take different planes to be safe. Nina wants to go on the trip with Scola, but he is still set on his choice because he wants to reduce any risks. When Scola is called in for work, they have to quickly end their chat. The team’s job is to look into the death of Mike Rosen, a former FBI Special Agent who worked for a security company called Provident Armor. Men kidnapped, raped, and killed Mike because they wanted to know about his new job and how to get into the armored truck’s database to look for important pickups.
When Mike’s body is found on federal land, the case moves to the federal level. Scola and his team find out that Mike used to work for their department. This makes them look into what he does now and possible reasons for killing him. They find a complicated web of illegal activity that includes a diamond theft worth over ten million dollars. During a fight, OA, one of the team members, kills Chavez, one of the suspects. This is a dramatic turn in the case. The team then works on catching the other suspects, such as Beto, Chavez’s cousin, who is linked to the jewelry theft.
Nina says that Jacobson, one of the suspects, is her criminal snitch, which makes things more difficult. Nina asks the team to free Jacobson, but they keep him in jail because he is connected to the crimes. Nina’s moral dilemma shows how hard it can be to balance personal and work obligations. Nina and Scola go undercover as a married couple to catch Beto as the probe goes on. There is a heated standoff during a planned buy because they lose track of Beto, which slows down their plan. They catch Beto and get back the stolen diamonds by working together and thinking quickly. After the event, Jacobson gets the prize money for his help, and Nina talks to Scola about taking chances and being open to the unknown in life. The episode ends on a sad note that shows how important it is to be brave and strong when things go wrong.
