Better Call Saul Season 6 Episode 13: Betsy Brandt reprises her role as Marie

We were prepared for a few shocks at the heart of the Better Call Saul series 6 finale episode, but we did not expect Betsy Brandt to reprise her role as Marie! yes! you heard absolutely right. Betsy Brandt is back as Marie!

It was abundantly evident that the primary Breaking Bad character wanted retribution for what had happened to Hank in the first season of the show, and we absolutely welcomed the opportunity to see her again. Additionally, the fact that she was there served as a constant reminder of how skilled Saul was at his profession, which consisted of plotting his way into a more favorable plea bargain. In the ending of Better Call Saul Season 6 Episode 13, it does not appear that Marie obtained what she desired or anything even very near to it. Jimmy’s initial sentence would have required him to serve it for the better part of his life. In spite of this, he was able to reduce his sentence all the way down to seven and a half years by telling a story that was well calculated.

When it comes to Jimmy’s future, did the presence of Marie really make a difference in anything at all? Not much, but it was the kind of throwback that this program and franchise enjoys, so it’s not completely irrelevant. When everything is taken into account, this also happened to be a carefully concealed secret. The network knew that in addition to Aaron Paul and Bryan Cranston’s comeback, they still had some other surprises up their sleeves, which is one of the reasons why they didn’t mind publicizing the return of the two actors. As was the case with those other actors, we have reason to believe that Betsy Brandt secretly traveled to Albuquerque in order to practice for this part in complete anonymity. It was an investment that ended up being profitable, and for that, we are quite grateful.
