Elizabeth has a lot on her plate, including a prospective threat from Walden and Spurlock. He doesn’t seem to have given up on bringing Hope Valley’s school under the control of the larger district. In addition to all of this, Elizabeth faces a daycare dilemma when her babysitter becomes ill with the flu. Fortunately, Lucas is willing to assist, which should allow him to bond with tiny Jack (Hyland Goodrich).

When Calls the Heart Season 9 Episode 3 Recap

A Single Mother on the Frontier, Elizabeth’s (Erin Krakow) debut novel, is now available. Everyone in Hope Valley is eager to get their hands on a copy. However, not everyone is pleased with what they have read. Several of the characters appear to be barely veiled representations of Elizabeth’s real-life friends and acquaintances. Nathan (Kevin McGarry) simply decides not to read it at all, which, given the circumstances, is probably a good decision. Elizabeth is depressed as a result of the severe thrashing, but Lucas (Chris McNally) hopes that the surprise party he has arranged would cheer her up. Elizabeth’s book, according to the author, helped her cope with the loss of her own spouse. Despite Faith’s (Andrea Brooks) recommendation to stay in bed, Nathan has left the infirmary following his accident. The only person who can come near to Newton is Mei Sou (Amanda Wong). However, Nathan’s attempt to enlist her assistance fails miserably. He becomes irritated when she tells him he needs to be patient. They repair things later.

Nathan admits he was irritable because he believes he was to blame for the disaster. Nathan and Mei Sou appear to be approaching each other. Despite community opposition, Wyman Walden (Wesley Salter) is back in Hope Valley and determined to develop his foundry. For coping with the newcomer, Lucas has devised his own strategy. Lucas expresses an interest in doing business with Walden when they first meet at the Queen of Hearts. Cooper (Elias Leacock) confides in Joseph (Viv Leacock) that he doesn’t understand why Angela (Elias Leacock) was left blind after contracting the measles while he was not. This leads to a more in-depth discussion between Joseph and Minnie (Natasha Burnett) about the doctor who refused to treat Angela, the bigotry that pushed them out of their previous town, and when they should tell their children about it. When Nathan notices Mei’s diploma on the pharmacy wall, he looks perplexed. It’s from the University of Illinois, and it says she’s from Hope Valley. It’s dated 1917. Something isn’t quite right here. Hickam orders Bill to evacuate his office as one of his first formal acts as mayor, much to Bill’s chagrin. Lee (Kavan Smith) is a multi-talented man, but not an outstanding reporter. “Seems Like Duck Soup for Hickam,” his first story for the Valley Voice, is a bit of a puzzle. Faith and Carson are no longer dating, yet she still feels disappointed when she can’t reach him on the phone in Balitmore. Gustave (Karl Pepin) is Lucas’ cousin, he explains.
