Walker Season 2 Episode 7 Recap

Bonham making food, Cordell is enraged at Liam. Liam tells Augie and Stella what happened with Dan and the bogus. Cordell is at the station after the main credits when Micki’s nameplate is removed. Inquiring about Liam, Captain James seeks out Cordell. Captain James also tells Cordell he can’t work on any Serano or Northside Nation cases.

Stella is unable to decide what she wants to do with her life on college visitation day at the local high school, a problem shared by Coach Trey Barnett, who is experiencing an existential crisis following Micki’s departure. When James visits Trey at his home, he notices that a suspicious automobile is watching Trey’s house from across the street. In the aftermath of Trey’s loss of Micki, James pushes him to stay in Austin rather than leave. While Trey and James mourn Micki’s death, the Rangers inform James that the automobile across the street belongs to Northside, leading him to bring Trey to the Rangers headquarters for safety.

August is still recovering from his fractured collarbone at home, where he is assisting his grandmother Abby on the ranch. Colton, Dan’s kid, comes by seeking for Stella but ends up hanging out with August, much to Abby’s chagrin. Abby soon reveals that she and Colton’s grandmother, Gail Davidson, used to be friends, despite the Walker and Davidson families’ long-running rivalry. After school, Walker and Stella bond over bocce and discuss about Walker’s professional path before Stella persuades her father to reconcile with Liam. As he accepts responsibility for his brother’s crime, Walker acknowledges to Stella that he privately feels bad for leading Liam astray.

Rather than giving a statement on Serrano’s continuance, Liam reconnects with his ex-boyfriend Bret Nam; but, when Serrano’s defense phones to ask if he is officially recusing himself from the prosecution, Liam changes his mind and notifies the lawyer that he will deliver a statement. Bret and Liam recognize that if Liam recuses himself, Serrano’s defense will attempt to dismiss the case against their client based on Walker’s own earlier misconduct case, and Liam and Bret are prepared to answer accordingly, despite Liam’s appearance of being disheveled and inebriated.

At the Rangers’ headquarters, James chastises Liam for his scruffy appearance, while Liam and Bret privately realize they still have emotions for one other. Walker and Liam reconcile after bringing his brother back to the ranch to sober up. Walker expresses his profound worry for Liam’s well-being while assuring his brother that he will always have his support.

Captain James returns Trey to his home and informs him that he has a security detail and that he will wait for them. Cap comes out of his car and notices something in his side mirror as Trey returns inside. He pulls out his revolver and is hit in the leg. As Trey seeks cover on the front porch, he engages in a shootout. Captain James is shot in the chest and lies bleeding on the front steps at the end of the episode.
