The Witcher anime film’s plot

Despite the countless tales found in Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski’s original Witcher books, Nightmare of the Wolf introduces something altogether unique. It centers on the character Vesemir, who is set to debut in The Witcher’s second season and is a fan favorite from both the novels and the games.

Vesemir is well recognized for being Geralt’s father figure in the game. This film, however, begins before Geralt is even born, following Vesemir’s journey as a Witcher when the enigmatic Deglan claims him through the Law of Surprise. It connects directly to the live-action series’ narrative, offering viewers insight into who Vesemir is and his personal past. If we’re lucky, we might even get an appearance from Geralt of Rivia, a.k.a. Henry Cavil.

The cast and crew of Nightmare of the Wolf

Theo James as Vesemir, David Errigo Jr. as Young Vesemir, Lara Pulver as Tetra, Graham McTavish as Deglan, Mary McDonnell as Lady Zerbst, Tom Canton as Filavandrel, Matt Yang King as Luka.
