The Rookie Season 4 Episode 14 Recap
The episode opens with Angela contacting John to come over and assist her with a broken bookcase. Meanwhile, Lucy admits that her father was not her father, but she seems unconcerned. Nolan and Harper arrive at the station a little later. Randy, a skip tracer, contacts Nolan and Harper for assistance with his newest case. Wes’ handyman phase irritates Angela because he doesn’t have anything else to do. Grey offers to connect Wes with someone looking for a job. Randy’s person is wanted for $250K because she is a madam and they want her clients. They learn that the bounty began doing sex work in order to pay for her graduate school to become a teacher. They were dispatched to track down Ivy, but the man was shot, and Randy ended up in a sex coffin. A woman reports that an ex-employee has let loose a swarm of rats in her eatery. They get to a location and discover Ivy, who is attacked by a lady. It’s a rival bounty hunter, and Randy’s ex-girlfriend Naya approaches Penelope and apologizes for using Donovan’s history against him. They reconcile, and she inquires about Ivy.
Wes is dealing with an actress who is portraying a lawyer. They track down the woman who has been tormenting everyone and discover that she had breast cancer, was in remission, and had taken revenge on everyone who had treated her badly while she was sick. Chen enlists the help of her aunt in order to learn more about her biological father. She learns that her mother slept with a patient when she was a therapist, and that her father is one of those patients. IVy is discovered by Randy, Harper, and Nolan. She claims that she can take down the Dead Bastards, a biker gang that is pursuing her. Randy gets shot when he opens the door thinking it’s room service. Lucy believes she reminds her mother of her error, which is why she is harsh with her. She learns her father’s name. Tim tries to make her feel better by making her laugh and smile. Randy was wearing a kevlar vest, and Ivy flees as the other bounty hunter, Alicia, spots her. In the parking garage, there is a firefight, and Randy is injured again, but they save Ivy from the gang, and the cops arrive. Chen learns that her father has died, despite the fact that she never had the opportunity to meet him. He was murdered in an automobile accident five years ago, with no family, wife, or children. Randy expresses his gratitude to Harper and Nolan by showing up to Nolan’s apartment for a double date.
