After a widower whose wife the team treated in the past returns to the hospital, Dr. Claire Browne (Antonia Thomas) says the widower asked her out. Dr. Neil Melendez (Nicholas Gonzalez) says she deserves to be happy  and it’s clear that he means it.

When a counselor for at-risk kids (guest star Harold Perrineau) needs a kidney transplant, one of the kids he mentors (guest star Luke Slattery) volunteers to donate a kidney. The team doesn’t want to allow it, feeling he doesn’t properly understand the risks, but will his impassioned plea change their minds?

After Shaun (Freddie Highmore) tries to show Lea (Paige Spara) all the ways he’ll change to make it easier for them to be together, Lea tells him in no uncertain terms that this isn’t a fixable problem, and a relationship with the two of them just won’t work.
