The Flash Season 8 Episode 8 Recap

Barry and Chester discover signs of dark matter at the scene of a manager’s death in a bar in Central City. Barry gives the worker who found Stanley a picture of Jaco Birch/The Hotness, and she verifies it’s him. Jaco, a newly released metahuman criminal, was the suspect. Barry consults Cecile and is doubtful that Jaco committed the crime. There’s no proof Jaco did it, and Barry isn’t convinced. He suspects something is amiss and begs Cecile to meet with him to read his feelings, First, she refuses. Finally meets Jaco, who is worried about his son. Interrogated, Jaco grows increasingly agitated at the idea of extra jail time and separation from his son. He escapes prison transport and confronts the manager who accused him of murder. The manager is later found dead in similar circumstances. Despite this, Barry insists Jaco isn’t the killer. Chester determines that the heat signatures between the victims and Jaco don’t match. However, Jaco had absorbed too much heat and was pulling magma from beneath the city. It’s The Flash protecting the city. Jaco later sees his son.
