The Cleaning Lady Season 4 Episode 7 Recap

As of now, FOX has not officially renewed THE CLEANING LADY for Season 5. But if you watched the explosive Season 4 finale, you’d agree—it hardly felt like the end. In fact, it looks more like a brand new chapter is just beginning.

Thony De La Rosa, played by Élodie Yung, had one of her most action-packed arcs yet in the two-hour Season 4 finale. The episode kicked off with Thony behind bars for the murder of Rex Blackley. By the time the final credits rolled, she was a free woman with some dangerous new connections—and even bigger ambitions.

During her time in prison, Thony endured everything from assaults by Ramona Sanchez (played by Kate del Castillo) to giving a whole cellblock food poisoning. Amid all that chaos, she even healed an inmate’s arthritis. But her real battle began when Ramona staged a riot and escaped with other inmates. Thony used the confusion to escape too, only to fall back into Ramona’s hands, who planned to bury her alive. In a dramatic twist, Thony was saved by Fiona (Martha Millan), who knocked Ramona out cold with a shovel.

Thony nearly killed Ramona but stopped short. Instead, she buried her alive, later telling Jorge (Santiago Cabrera) that Ramona was “no longer a problem.” However, the final scene showed Ramona waking up, trapped underground and screaming for help. That cliffhanger alone leaves plenty of room for Season 5.

Meanwhile, Jorge lost his grip on the Sin Cara cartel. A new and ruthless player, Feng, took over. Jorge fled the country with Violeta and offered Thony a way out, but she chose to stay and face the new challenge head-on. Jorge left her with a book of secret information—leverage she could use against the new district attorney, Joel Herman.

But Thony had her own plan. She gave the incriminating book to Feng in exchange for a promotion within the cartel. Then, she told Joel she’d work as an informant to bring down Sam Heller, a key figure funding Sin Cara. Both men agreed. But Thony wasn’t done.

In the final moment, Thony revealed her true goal: not to serve the cartel or the law—but to take over Sin Cara herself. “They all want to control me,” she said to Fiona. “But this puts me back in control.”

It’s a bold setup for what could be an even bolder season.

FOX may still be weighing its decision, but the ending of Season 4 makes it clear—Thony’s story is far from over. With Ramona possibly still alive, Feng in power, and Thony ready to rise, there’s plenty of drama left to explore.
