Brian Koppelman and David Levien’s planned American anthology drama television series Super Pumped is based on Mike Isaac‘s 2019 nonfiction book of the same name. Super Pumped is on the way. People are curious to know about this new series. Its first chapter will be based on true events. Here (tvacute.com) you will get the information about this series Super Pumped Season 1.

What about Super Pumped?

The first installment, titled The Battle For Uber, is based on Isaac’s book and follows former Uber CEO Travis Kalanick, played by Joseph Gordon-Levitt.  It will follow the roller-coaster ride of Uber, one of Silicon Valley’s most successful and destructive companies, from the perspective of its CEO Travis Kalanick, who is eventually ousted in a boardroom coup following tense internal and external battles with unpredictable consequences. Other stories of enterprises that have influenced culture will be explored in future seasons. In Season 1, Joseph Gordon-Levitt plays Travis Kalanick, the former CEO of the ride-hailing company. Kyle Chandler plays Kalanick’s former friend, Bill Gurley.

Super Pumped – The Battle For Uber

When Uber started out, it was just a transportation service. It has since grown into a global courier service that delivers your food and freight and rents out bikes and scooters all over the world. But the bumps and potholes that the Uber company had to deal with are what make Showtime’s Super Pumped: The Battle for Uber so exciting to watch. As the world praised Kalanick for the convenience of hailing a cab from their phone in the early days of the app, the founder received high marks. Then came the inevitable turbulence. Kalanick, as well as the Uber work atmosphere, were accused of being rude, unreasonable demanding, and misogynistic. Another criticism leveled against Kalanick and the firm was that they were unconcerned about the fundamental thing that kept them afloat – their drivers. They were given pitiful earnings and scant perks.

Showtime says that this season of the show “focuses on Kalanick, Uber‘s hard-charging CEO who was eventually ousted in a boardroom coup, and his sometimes-tense relationship with Bill Gurley, the plainspoken and brilliant Texan venture capitalist who bets his sterling reputation on Uber’s success and then has to live with the consequences.” This is how it works.

In the interview with Stephen Colbert, Gordon-Levitt compared Kalanick to Donald Trump, saying that while he was entertaining, he did not always do what was best for people. “I think he was a really exciting guy to be around actually, and there’s good parts to that and bad parts to that,” Gordon-Levitt said. “There’s probably some people who have done some pretty bad things in the world—like the president we elected in 2016—who was pretty exciting to be around. But just because someone’s exciting to be around doesn’t mean they are doing the right thing.”

Kyle Chandler, star of “Super Pumped,” was interested in the true story that inspired Mike Isaac’s book and is looking forward to seeing his representation in the series! While the real-life narrative of Kalanick and Chandler’s character, Bill Gurley, an Uber board member, made headlines, it’s difficult to appreciate just how impactful Uber was on society until you see Super Pumped. The series, according to Chandler, is “revelatory,” adding, “I had no clue that all this had taken place. And I find that kind of stunning.” In separate interview with E! News.
