Filming for the live-action adaptation of “One Piece” took place primarily at Cape Town Film Studios in Cape Town, South Africa. The location provided ample space for the production, including the construction of three pirate ships specifically for the show.

In September 2021, Netflix unveiled the script for the first episode, titled “Romance Dawn.” Reports emerged of the crew preparing to start filming in October 2021 and filming finally commenced in February 2022.
