‘NCIS’ Season 20 Episode 6 Recap

The squad finds fellow NCIS agent Otis Khatri dead at Lt. Mary Laredo’s residence, despite the sluggish network. Otis managed NCIS’ humanitarian response after wars and natural catastrophes and volunteered to keep Laredo’s cat, Prince Charming. Otis’ sister knows Tim as “McGeek” and claims he hasn’t talked about work in a week. Prince Charming passed through a horrific scene, therefore the lost cat may have bloody paws. Knight (Katrina Law) looks for Prince Charming by checking local vets for his microchip, but is she scanning the neighborhood?   Laredo’s home lured out with tuna? She’s never looked for a lost pet. Palmer (Brian Dietzen) is likewise anxious about Kasie. Parker (Gary Cole) tells him she wanted a personal day off and that he works with NCIS. You’ve seen dangers galore. Listen to your coworker if he feels it’s odd that Kasie missed work without a sub. Since Otis was allergic and always checked ingredients before eating, Palmer feels he trusted the person who handed him the doused meal.

Palmer tries to absorb the facts in Kasie’s absence, even busting out the hand-written Abby’s Lab for Dummies guidebook, which is amusing. Palmer runs a command that makes all the computers panic out since Abby’s instructions isn’t user-friendly. Kasie’s in the building to put things right and expose who Otis’ laptop prints belong to. DUN. She insists on being interviewed in the typical room, but twist, she sits in the interrogator’s seat, pressing McGee to account for repeated shipments of Chinese electronic equipment. McGeek claims they were for a ’80s talking bear named Barry Smiles. Kasie tells the interrogation room camera that her probe into NCIS’ mole is done. She tells her stunned coworkers that she was hired by Defense Criminal Investigation Services to find a mole. Rocky Carroll’s Vance was clueless. Amber Friendly’s DCIS Agent Eden Grayson states that Kasie was cleared first, then placed to work. Vance can’t believe they didn’t offer Kasie a support team since she’s not an agent. She struggled. She explains Palmer harbouring secrets was lonely, so she utilised PTO to clean the team.

She needs that back. Otis was utilising the NCIS system to collect confidential information from oil and tech corporations and ransom it back to them, slowing down the network. The gang discovers a firm owner who refuses to pay the ransom aboard a boat in Ibiza. He says he paid a fresh ransom demand that morning but won’t tell where. To find out who Otis was working with, NCIS sends Kasie through an air vent with the crew behind her. Jess slams down Kasie’s apology to Knight, stating she was only doing her job. Knight is right and should tell Kasie. Kasie informs the crew over coms that she’s happy of her work and feels closer to them. Torres (Wilmer Valderrama) nicknames her Rambo, but she’s emulating Ethan Hunt. Kasie can’t come up with a solid cover story when a young corporate employee enters the server room, flailing so hard that the lady asks, “Are you… good?” Despite the team’s assurances, no one helps Kasie come up with a suitable cover story. She comes up with one on her own and tells the lady to leave the server room with her spilled drink. Her fast thinking reveals that a Caymans Island account automatically gives money to organisations.

Otis is a Robin Hood hacker since every blackmailed corporation defaulted on a vow to give to charity. Knight performing Laredo’s foolish cat song to attract Prince Charming home revealed his murderer. She and Palmer cope with the freaked-out cat (of course he’s attacking them; he’s in a lab with strangers). His paws reveal murderers’ DNA, which is… Grayson! Grayson laughs during Kasie’s debriefing in the strange DCIS van that a charity can’t return a gift, but Kasie never informed him that. I adore this trope, but two weeks in a row? By the time the crew arrives, there’s a full-on battle in the van, and Kasie has subdued gun-carrying Grayson. Our favourite lab tech is finally trusting herself. This is a great throwback to Abby’s van battle in “Bloodbath” (season 3, episode 21) Bad guys should avoid NCIS lab techs. Otis detected the extortion plot and told Grayson, who killed him and framed him for Robin Hood. The episode ends with Vance praising Otis’ sister and a more confident Kasie on the sparring mat.
