After President Wade was assassinated by a witch bomb planted by the Camarilla, Silver was subsequently sworn in as President. The body of Wade has the symptoms of the witch’s disease. Abigail shares the news with the others that Alder has arrived back. After the bombing, Anacostia is missing. A new civilian monitoring body that will be based at Fort Salem is introduced to Petra by Silver. At Silver’s inaugural ball, Hearst performs his transplanted witch voicebox. One of the witches being confined in glass containers at the ball is Anacostia. Petra is shown a rebuilt Penelope by Izadora, who still has aggressive tendencies. Without success, the witches attempt to ambush Horse. Horse informs them that they are to meet with the Council of the Great River. Hearst’s favorite project is in danger, Kara tells him.
