Mayfair Witches Episode 6 Recap

After the events of the fifth episode of “Mayfair Witches,” viewers may have been left with the impression that Rowan had been transported to a strange new dimension; however, it was later revealed that the surreal visuals were merely the result of creative camerawork meant to mask the show’s lackluster script. Due to Rowan wearing the necklace, Lasher is able to enter Ciprien’s safe apartment.  When she wakes up, she finds Lasher by her bed. . Ciprien learns this and steals the necklace to investigate where the Mayfairs and Lasher first became close. At Deirdre Mayfair’s burial, Keith Murfis, the unidentified photographer, views videos of a gathering rallying against the witches. He removes Deirdre’s organs from a fridge and publishes an image of her heart online. The King’s troops kidnapped Suzanne Mayfair in the past because of their belief that she had ties to the devil, as seen in flashbacks. After revealing that her fate will be decided by men of religion, the men told her this.  Rowan goes to see her Uncle Cortland in hopes of getting rid of Lasher with his assistance. Cortland maintains his position that it is pointless to try to get rid of Lasher because Rowan needs him for some reason.

Tessa and Rowan have a sit-down to discuss the rising anti-witch sentiment. She tries to incite the latter by showing them Keith’s message, and then she begs the thirteenth Mayfair witch to use her abilities to deal with them. The protest leader opposing the witches’ dominance introduces herself to Keith. Because of his success in winning over a Mayfair witch, he quickly rises to prominence among his peers. When Ciprien reaches the Talamasca, he touches the necklace and is suddenly whisked back in time to the seventeenth century. While the King’s troops degraded and imprisoned Suzanne, he saw how she bonded with Lasher, her savior.

While Rowan works to get rid of Lasher, Ciprien goes on a historical treasure hunt. He meditates in order to discover why Lasher liked the Mayfairs so much. While in the 1600s, he witnesses Suzanne’s trial for witchcraft. Despite her pleas for the community to exercise common sense and mercy, they start deciding to confine her to a cage and subject her to a “test of water.” That probably means she’ll end up in the water, too. God will have spared an innocent life if she makes it, but if she perishes, she deserves what she gets for being a witch. Suzanne, forewarned of the horror that was to come, began reciting the chant she had learned from a real witch. When the villagers came for her, Lasher suddenly appeared and rescued her. The key to Suzanne’s cell was hidden on the necklace she received from the execution’s head office.

The necklace represents the wearer’s freedom and independence in this way. While Lasher promises Suzanne the world, he insists that in exchange she must carry out a prophecy from long ago. It’s still unclear what that is. Witness Ciprien is knocked out, but his mind remains in the present. During today’s Lasher transfer ceremony, Rowan hurls up the necklace that has kept Lasher tied to her all these years. Tessa has decided that she will carry that key and Lasher. Worse than a child being given such a responsibility is the fact that the necklace wasn’t even washed before Tessa was forced to wear it at the ceremony. Tessa, confident in her newfound abilities, takes the initiative to approach the troll. It’s a trap, though, and the witch-hunters end up capturing her when she goes there to meet him. She calls out for Lasher in desperation, but he doesn’t answer. As if the necklace no longer has any influence over him.
