Law & Order: Organized Crime Season 4 Episode 2 Recap

“Searching for a Bomber,” the second episode of Law & Order: Organized Crime’s fourth season, shows Detective Elliot Stabler finding his older brother Randall, whom he had never talked about before. At the same time, a troubling event is happening in New York City: someone plants a bomb outside of a mosque and writes hateful graffiti on the side of a church.

Bernadette, Stabler’s mother, has dementia, and she has trouble remembering some things during prayer time with Stabler. The person who broke into the mosque sets off the bomb while people all over the city pray at the same time. Stabler learns about it from the news.

Stabler calls his brother on the way to work and tells him to go see their mother. Officer Reyes is found parked all night. He says everything is fine, but Stabler has a feeling that it’s not true.

A Hate Crimes cop, whose wife was in the mosque at the time of the crime, isn’t sure if it was a hate crime. Captain Bell (Danielle Moné Truitt )is hesitant to take charge because he doesn’t want to get in the way of Hate Crimes’ authority. Stabler notices something is wrong and decides to look into it anyway, even though Bell told him not to.

The show starts with an AI briefing, and Vargas starts using acronyms, which is annoying to everyone. Because Stabler is skeptical, he checks out the mosque, which gives Officer Bashir information about a possible link to the Taliban.

Now the story is about Asher, an unhappy teen who has something to do with the graffiti at the mosque. Stabler goes to see Asher’s mother to try to find out the truth. The mother says her son is innocent but is having problems.

When Stabler sees his estranged brother Randall again, he criticizes him for putting his job ahead of his family. As the investigation goes on, it turns out that the bombing was tied to a plan to pose as someone else in a hospital. This is how the main suspect, Asher, died.

Tensions rise between Stabler and Hate Crimes officer Shah, adding complexity to the case. With the help of AI, the team figures out who the suspects are, which leads to a dramatic showdown in a warehouse. At the end of the show, Stabler goes home, where family problems with his brother become the main focus.
