‘Jeopardy!’: Who Wins Special Super-Champs Game

Jeopardy Who Wins Special Super-Champs Game-

After a fun and occasionally raucous game, a writer & podcaster from Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Mattea Roach defeated Amy Schneider and Matt Amodio in the battle of Jeopardy! super-champs.

Despite there being no real stakes in the game, the Law School Admission Test tutor from Toronto came out on top with $17,600 against Schneider’s $904 and a postdoctoral researcher from Cambridge, Massachusetts Amodio’s $3,600. The demonstration match was part of the current Tournament of Champions’ special Midterm Election Day program. The tournament starts tonight, Wednesday, November 9, with the first semi-final match.

The highly anticipated duel was overseen by Ken Jennings and had a casual atmosphere. In the episode, Jennings mistakenly revealed the solution at one point, which made him swear. “I don’t know if you noticed, but the numbers in that category are 40, 23, 38, and 74, which is larger than all of them – of s**t,” the presenter stated in reference to the “Numbers Please” category.

Jennings jokingly flung his clue sheet to the ground as the show bleeped his curse. He was attempting to highlight how the answers corresponded to the number of games that each player on stage, including himself, had previously won, with the “bigger than all of them” 74. But before it was read, he revealed the final hint, number 40 (Schneider’s win total).

A writer from Oakland, California, Amy Schneider, who never misses an opportunity, jokingly called in with “Numbers for $200,” properly answering and causing a roar of amusement from the live audience. The episode had a fun mood the entire time. Amodio once paused in the middle of a hint to remark, “Hi Ki, I just wanted to say hello,” which caused the audience to giggle. Roach mentioned a P!nk song as “One of my fave songs when I was, like, four” in a music category. When Schneider later referred to Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” as “one of my favourite songs when I was, like, 27,” she was imitating Roach’s remark.

“When there aren’t any significant stakes involved, you can notice how much more looser and easygoing they are. One supporter commented, “What a great and entertaining battle! The three are just having fun! Alex would have been tickled and happy, in my opinion.

Speaking of Alex Trebek, the program dedicated a category to the late presenter on the occasion of the second anniversary of his passing. There were hints about Trebek’s hometown, his major in college, his preferred breakfast, and his hardware collection, the last of which baffled everyone.
