The first novel in the fantasy series, “A Game of Thrones,” which George R. R. Martin released in 1996, serves as the setting for the television show. Martin has created the world for five books and a number of novellas, and he has additional novels planned and in the works. The source material for House of the Dragon is “Fire & Blood,” which details the whole history of House Targaryen.

200 years before Game of Thrones, the new series takes place. The Targaryens’ rule will be examined, particularly that of King Viserys Targaryen (Paddy Considine), who aspires to carry on his grandfather’s tradition of peace. The peace, though, might not endure for long because it appears that conflict is just around the corner.

The trailer opens with Emma D’Arcy’s Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen (Considine’s King Viserys) conversing with her father and the successor to the kingdom. “The road ahead is uncertain, but the end is obvious,” he says. This statement serves two purposes: it foreshadows bad times to come while also serving as a pleasant fast reminder that this is a prequel series with a rather obvious conclusion. The King continues by telling his daughter that although they are well-defended against their adversaries, battle is still on the horizon. The Game of Thrones theme then starts playing as we see glimpses of the great battles and fierce dragons we may anticipate seeing in House of the Dragon.

Considine and D’Arcy are joined by Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Steve Toussaint, Eve Best, Fabien Frankel, Sonoya Mizuno, and Rhys Ifans in the House of the Dragon core cast. Both Martin and Ryan Condal served as executive producers in addition to co-creating the series. Condal is also the prequel’s co-showrunner and co-writer. The other co-showrunner is Miguel Sapochnik, who also directs and executive produces a number of the episodes. On House of the Dragon, Sara Hess, Jocelyn Diaz, Vince Gerardis, and Ron Schmidt all served as executive producers.

On Sunday, August 21, HBO will broadcast the world premiere of House of Dragon, which will also be streamable on HBO Max. (tvacute.com) Here is all the information you need to know about the new series .
