Elsbeth Season 1 Episode 6 Recap
The episode starts with our brave redhead detective, Elsbeth Tascioni, getting an attractive offer from Captain Wagner: a raise if he keeps an eye on her. But Elsbeth stays true to her beliefs in fairness and won’t give in to pressure against her beliefs. The case of the week takes Elsbeth and Officer Kaya to a world of high-end plastic surgery, where Dr. Vanessa Holmes and Dr. Astrid Olsen are becoming more competitive with each other. Dr. Holmes feels belittled by Dr. Olsen’s success, and she is pushed to the edge when Dr. Olsen opens her own practice and criticizes the old guard of plastic surgeons on social media.
Things get worse when Dr. Holmes talks to Dr. Olsen in public, which starts a heated fight. Dr. Olsen is found dead later that night, and Dr. Holmes is the most likely person to have killed him. Detective Edwards, a smart and tech-savvy detective, is put in charge of the case and quickly figures out that Dr. Holmes is most likely responsible. But Elsbeth and Kaya think there’s more to the story and decide to find out what’s really going on.
Elsbeth and Kaya figure out who killed Dr. Olsen by using a variety of smart investigation methods, such as looking at security video and talking to witnesses. When they find out that Dr. Holmes planned the murder to look like an accident, she used her knowledge of anatomy and surgery to make it look like Dr. Olsen died of natural causes. Elsbeth confronts Dr. Holmes with the proof, which leads to her confession in a dramatic scene. He tells Dr. Holmes that she killed because she was jealous and wanted to protect her image in the tough world of plastic surgery.
Now that the case is over and Dr. Holmes is in jail, Elsbeth thinks about how complicated people are and how far they will go to protect their reputation. She says she is still committed to justice and promises to keep fighting for truth and honor in a place where lies and corruption are common.At the end of the show, Elsbeth thinks about the problems she will face in the future and knows she will always be on the side of justice, no matter what.
