The Hulu series Conversations with Friends will follow the story of Frances (Alison Oliver), a college student who is best friends with her former lover Bobbi and is based on Sally Rooney’s award-winning debut novel of the same name (Sasha Lane). The two poets meet Melissa (Jemima Kirke), a writer in her 30s, who introduces them to her husband, actor Nick, while performing in Dublin’s clubs (Joe Alwyn). Their lives are intertwined by Frances and Nick’s intense romance and Melissa and Bobbi’s burgeoning emotions.
Conversations with Friends Season 1 Release Date
Season 1 of Conversations With Friends will premiere on Hulu on Sunday, May 15 at 12:00 a.m. ET. All interested British viewers will be able to watch the series on BBC One, BBC Three, and BBC iPlayer. Conversations with Friends is also available on Amazon Prime Video in Canada and Australia. Meanwhile, on Wednesday, May 18, Ireland will watch the show’s premiere on RTE One.

Frances is observant, cerebral and sharp. Her ex-girlfriend, now best friend, Bobbi is self-assured, outspoken and compelling. Though they broke up three years ago, Frances and Bobbi are virtually inseparable and perform spoken word poetry together in Dublin. It’s at one of their shows that they meet Melissa, an older writer, who is fascinated by the pair. Bobbi and Frances start to spend time with Melissa and her husband, Nick, a handsome but reserved actor. While Melissa and Bobbi flirt with each other openly, Nick and Frances embark on an intense secret affair that is surprising to them both. Conversations with Friends Season 1 Cast
Conversations feature a small cast, with Alison Oliver, a recent graduate of Dublin’s Lir Academy, playing Frances. Bobbi, Nick, and Melissa will be played by Sasha Lane (American Honey), Joe Alwyn (The Favourite), and Jemima Kirke (Girls), respectively. This is Rooney’s second film adaptation, the first being Normal People, her second novel. The majority of the creative team behind this 12-episode miniseries, including director Lenny Abrahamson, co-writer Alice Birch, and Element Pictures, worked on Normal People.

The official trailer for Conversations With Friends was released by Hulu yesterday, and it begins with Frances debating whether sleeping with someone who is in love with someone else is a bad thing. Following that, the trailer shows Frances and Bobbi’s initial meeting with Melissa and Nick, as well as Frances’ affair with Nick. However, their affair threatens the bonds that unite them all, and disaster is on the horizon.
