Brooklyn Nine-Nine Season 8 Episode 7 & 8 Recap

On Brooklyn Nine-Nine Season 8, Jake and Terry accompanied Boyle to Pappy Boyle’s farm for his own funeral. Terry saw the giant rats before the Boyles. When Jake discovers Pappy died without a will, the property goes to a black sheep, cousin Lyndon Boyle. He suspects a Boyle of murdering another Boyle, but Boyles denies this. Jake decided to investigate and discovered Pappy had been poisoned. Investigating Lyndon revealed that he and Pappy had fought. But it was for a zoom call. Indignantly, Pappy called him a disgrace. Then he failed to open the Grandmother Dough, proving a true Boyle. He didn’t even touch the poison, but the box has hair. The DNA test revealed that the hair came from Rodent, but Charles may not be a Boyle.

Further investigation points to a rodent as the cause of Pappy’s death. Pappy drank Muffin’s milk after Muffin ate the poison. Aside from Pappy’s death, Sam Boyle planned much of this to prove he wasn’t a real Boyle. Boyle proved he was a true one by opening the Grandmother Dough, which had been closed for years. Captain Holt is also struggling with couples therapy and growing distant from Kevin. Rosa and Amy helped him, and Rosa suggested he date someone else. Rosa wanted Holt to go out and find Kevin. In the end, he was trying to keep them from interfering with their lives. Holt realized he had lost Kevin because he was so focused on winning in therapy. Until Kevin kissed Captain Holt in the rain to end the episode.
