On his birthday, Mikey (Age 32) eats a bird and feels sick and in agony, but he ultimately feels better. he talks about missing his family and his son, who is autistic. He goes hunting and succeeds in taking down a grouse, which he believes was a birthday gift from his wife.

Alan Tenta (51) From Columbia Valley, Canada, addresses the moral quandary of unintentionally trapping a pine marten while concentrating on constructing a permanent shelter. He decides to concentrate on fishing rather than hunting wildlife since he is moved by the animal’s suffering. His first meal in five days arrives when he catches a lake trout.

When using his snares, 27-year-old Cade Cole from Crowheart, Wyoming encounters difficulties and decides to build new arrows to replace the ones he lost. He almost starts a forest fire but manages to catch a grouse and construct a fresh firepit. He considers his upbringing and the value of overcoming hardship.

In Episode 2, Lee DeWilde, a 59-year-old resident of Huslia, Alaska, was the first to forfeit. After two weeks, Lee recognized he had overexerted himself and was weak from starving. He had been unable to catch any fish, and with his frail build and meager supplies, he found it difficult to continue. Lee acknowledged that constructing his cabin had taken up too much of his time and effort. He opted to tap out because he was aware of the difficulties that hunger may cause, both physically and emotionally.

39-year-old Luke Olsen from Maui, Hawaii eats fish to fill up and dries blueberries with his gaiters. He concentrates on constructing two shelters, one of which is a winter refuge in a remote area. He values his father’s guidance and gives him credit for his outdoor prowess.

56-year-old Ann Rosenquist from northern Wisconsin hunts a grouse successfully and plans to entice a moose in the future. But she starts to lose vitality. Her physical state deteriorated, and she began to feel lightheaded and her pulse rate quickened. and her body starts to deteriorate. Despite her willpower, she passes out on Day 18 after feeling her body give out.

The survivalists encounter a number of difficulties during the episode, including a lack of food and physical weariness.
