9-1-1 Season 5 Episode 16 Recap

May feels enraged when Claudette steals one of her tips that aids in the capture of the culprit when the dispatch centre is dealing with a suspect involved in a police chase. Sue forced May and Claudette into the quiet room to talk about their problems, and the hour began innocently enough. The situation didn’t look promising at first, but the two finally came to terms, with Claudette urging May to go to college and live her life, as she didn’t want to see May face the consequences of her profession. Chimney and Albert look at rental properties for Albert, and he reveals that he’s not sure whether he’ll still have a career because firefighting is much more difficult than he expected.

Carson works in the server room at dispatch and then goes down to the basement to connect power, causing an electrical fire. Then the building caught fire, causing a whole new set of problems. Sue completely forgot that May and Claudette were still in the building in the midst of the pandemonium, leaving the women to fend for themselves. May jumped in to save Claudette, whose burn scars proved that she had dealt with fire before. Terry is trapped in the server room and is suffocated by the fire suppression system, which deprives the room of air. Eddie investigates the alert and enters the room to rescue Terry. He also notices that the dispatch centre is on fire. When the 118 and 133 arrive at the centre, Bobby and Lucy rush in to look for May and Claudette, while Buck and Eddie search for Carson.

In the parking garage, Hen and Jonah set up a triage centre, while Chimney and Albert help secure the building’s tower. While Buck and Eddie locate Carson and splint his broken leg, Bobby locates May and Claudette and demolishes the wall to free them. The roof collapses as they rush out of the building, bringing Albert down before Chimney can save him and forcing the roof to collapse on May and Bobby. The 118 rushes to help Bobby and May, pulling them from the wreckage. Taylor notices Buck and Lucy having a moment together and confronts Lucy about not making the firehouse filthy. Albert’s career as a firefighter is coming to an end. Chimney’s brother tried to communicate that he isn’t sure he wants to be a firefighter. If Albert doesn’t want to be a firefighter, Chimney advises him to leave. In the end, Hen Wilson (Aisha Hinds) is worried about a possible pinched nerve for Bobby and wonders what’s going on with her former temporary partner, Jonah (Brad Durfee), after he talks about failing to save a dispatcher. Claudette dies at the hospital while Jonah is on duty, and Hen becomes suspicious of his peculiar conduct.
